Idle images
Vain visages
What do you worship?
If it’s not God
you’re breaking the Law
but you’re not odd
Commandment number two:
Carved images of...
anything
make them, use them
serve them, do them...
Thou shalt not
For God is jealous
wants you to Himself
and Himself to you
Made of dirt
are you and I
and without God
empty inside
How do you fill?
Wood and stone
or flesh and bone?
What do you place
on only God’s throne?

"Wondering About Wandering"
The great blue yonder
calls to me
beckons me: "Wander"
To take up my staff
and just go,
flee my present, my past
But the Word of God
my red-bound Bible
tells me to stay, that I’m not odd
David felt it too:
to leave and not return
but even he found God true
He’ll be my chul
if I give over my merimna
Isn’t that...cool?
Praise God praise God praise God
it’s not my staff He gives
but rather His, and also, His rod
Praise the Lord,
the Father of peace
and my Great Comfort!
calls to me
beckons me: "Wander"
To take up my staff
and just go,
flee my present, my past
But the Word of God
my red-bound Bible
tells me to stay, that I’m not odd
David felt it too:
to leave and not return
but even he found God true
He’ll be my chul
if I give over my merimna
Isn’t that...cool?
Praise God praise God praise God

but rather His, and also, His rod
Praise the Lord,
the Father of peace
and my Great Comfort!
